I saw these Oreo doughnuts in Tesco and was tempted to but them and when I saw that they also had a vanilla cream filling I knew it wasn't even an option. These came as a pack of 2 and are chocolate doughnuts with white icing topped with Oreo cookie pieces and filled with that vanilla cream that I was eager to taste.
The doughnuts were a decent size and very dark in colour like a typical Oreo cookie. They were soft and doughy to touch and had more of a cake-y texture than most doughnuts. The flavour of the doughnut was very chocolate-y and gain, pretty authentic of the biscuit form. The white icing was very sweet and creamy and stopped the overall flavour from being too rich. The Oreo pieces on top were quite soft but I still enjoyed them and they still added a noticeable level to the texture. The vanilla cream filling that I was looking forward to was delicious. It was sweet, light and similarly to the white icing top it added a creamy flavour so that the chocolate doughnut didn't feel too heavy or rich.
I am definitely a fan of these Oreo doughnuts and think that these are a lovely addition to the Oreo range. They have a noticeable Oreo flavour but this cake like texture made them feel much more like a substantial dessert. If you like the biscuits then I would recommend giving these doughnuts a try. These were the perfect combination of chocolate and sweet cream and made for a lovely little treat to look forward to at the end of a long day.
