Slim Fast Chicken Tikka Massala Slim-Taki Noodles review

I have recently seen that slim fast have added three new boxed noodles to their range and they all state that contain under 100 calories. Even though I am not dieting, I was really interested to see what they would be like as it all sounded too good to be true so I picked up the chicken tikka version for a pricey £3.29 per box and popped the tub into the microwave for 2 minutes.

This version contained 81 calories and is made from slim-taki noodles which the box states satisfy your hunger and are made from glucomannan which apparently contributes to weight loss. There is also a warning to drink plenty of water before meals as there is a risk of choking especially for those with swallowing difficulties! This worried me slightly as it is a pretty unusual warning to have on a box of noodles!

When cooked there was a strong tikka smell and a thick brown sauce. It was actually pretty tasty and didn't taste low calorie at all. The slim-taki noodles however are noticeably different to any regular variety and I understood the warning. They have almost a rubbery texture and took quite a bit of chewing. I know this sounds awful but once I was used to it they weren't too bad. The noodles also seemed to retain their heat for a lot longer than most noodles, I'm not sure why this is but they stayed hot for ages. Overall I still can't believe that this meal was only 81 calories because for that few, its pretty amazing. I can't honesty say that these slim-taki noodles are as good as traditional ones but for anyone looking to loose a couple of pounds, Slim Fast are really helping you out with this surprisingly filling and tasty lunch on the go,
