Magnum Pistachio Ice Cream review

I have only ever had pistachio ice cream a couple of times and really enjoyed it, however it is not a flavour that I see around too much and so I don't think I have had it in years. The Magnum range of ice creams are known for being high quality and so I trusted them to remind me why I enjoyed pistachio flavoured ice cream on the few times that I have experienced it.

The outer chocolate layer had its usual thick coverage and a great "crack" when taking that initial bite. It was filled with pistachios which added  a nice crunch to the texture but the nutty flavour itself was quite mild. The chocolate wasn't very sweet but Magnum's milk chocolate never is as it lets the flavour of the ice cream shine through.

Breaking through the chocolate revealed the pale green coloured ice cream. There was a slight nutty smell but nothing hit me. I tasted it and really enjoyed it. It was very creamy and tasted quite luxurious but the pistachio flavour itself was very subtle. I would have preferred this ice cream if there was a stronger nutty taste to the ice cream but I still finished it off quite happily. I continue to be impressed with Magnums range of ice creams but for those hard-core pistachio fans, you will probably find this a little disappointing if you are looking for a rich pistachio
